Earthing Materials

Earthing protects you from hazardous electric shocks, and by this term, we mean having a specified path of the aforementioned electrical system with the surface of the earth which is conductive. We can define it as the immediate discharge of the electrical energy to the earth and we have to get this done using a low resistance path. Without proper earthing, we would be endangering our lives, so the leakage of current has to be stopped. It will reduce the dangerous instances due to electric shocks and minimize the risks, and the sophistication that is needed to operate properly helps a lot in the well-functioning of the system.

Generally, earthing is done using electrodes that are appropriately placed below or near the ground level. The electrode is then connected with a network, which is again installed directly under the ground level. The beauty of this system is that if there is any abnormal instance or some sort of faulty sequence in the current in the equipment, it has to flow through the properly aligned earthing system, and then followed to the ground, thus effectively reducing the chances of overload. All electrical appliances need to then get properly earthed to reduce the enormous possibility of a dangerous electric supply at fault. All electrical equipment to be connected to the earthing network in a secured way using custom designed clamps and bonds so that earth current in case of a fault gets the easiest path that is to the aforesaid network. This network then grounds the energy to the ground thereby helping protect the equipment's.

In the case of plate earthing, we mostly use a copper plate a galvanized iron plate, or a cast iron plate. It is very important to put it to the ground to at least three meters from the ground level, and according to a generally help view, this method is much more expensive. The equipment thus immersed in the ground will be enmeshed in layers of ground enhancing compound.

In strip earthing, we will have strip electrodes with an area of cross section not less than 25mm*1.6mm (specifically in the case of copper, and when Galvanized iron or steel is used, it will change to 25mm*4mm which will be buried in trenches or pits of a minimum depth of 0.5m.

Rod earthing is a bit similar to pipe earthing, and we can use rods that are of copper or copper bonded steel. We have to put the copper or copper bonded steel rod to the ground. We need to decide on the length of the rod or the depth of the grounding system depending on the conditions of the soil. If the soil is less resistive or hygroscopic, a single rod will be sufficient to achieve the required resistivity. In case of a more dry and resistive environment, more rods have to be joined together to reach a deeper area and achieve the required resistivity.

When it comes to the safety benefits of earthing, we need to think about the value it adds to human lives and buildings. A sound earthing system is vital in any household, industry or anywhere where man and machine exists. Earthing also plays a huge role in voltage stabilization and protection against an oversurge of voltage. As the earth is considered neutral as it contains no potential at all, we can achieve balance by using low-resistance path.

It has become very common for us to look for the best in the field, as we all crave quality. Having in the range of the highest order also helps us worry less about the potential risks, and this properly explains the increase in popularity of some specific names in the niche. No one wants to risk themselves, by having lesser quality systems and it is generally advised that having a general awareness about the field can later prove very instrumental. What all of us look for, in the case of something like earthing material is having a superior quality instrument and this is why names such as Exar Industries appear on the horizon.

Our products are used in various industries, and our policy of never compromising on quality standards has proven to be the main ingredient in building the trust quotient. Every product should follow the universal quality standards and should be exposed to the most stringent quality criteria. In this aspect too, with a habit of keenly observing the latest happenings in the field, we always try to better ourselves and try to think, if it is needed, out of the box. We have made safety the main theme of our endeavor, and this has been profoundly helpful in setting the pace for developing into a responsible producer of quality pieces of equipment.

Earthing material is something where no one wants to take a chance. Who wants to risk themselves thus, everyone wants the safest instrument available in the market. In the case of Exar, as a company rooted in the core ethos of bettering the lives of others by having strong safety standards, we believe if we strive for a better world populated by high-quality technology, we will reach there eventually. With superior teamwork, where one could turn every mistake into a win, and every learning contributes to excellence, we can dream a lot better!
